Hello there!

I am Georgie Valkana, a film director and educator, passionately obsessed with cinema 😉

I always take pleasure participating actively for more than 15 years in the creative process of a production. However, it’s my personal investment in education which became the catalyst to create CINETOC!

It started with an observation: We all enjoy talking about the latest movie seen in theaters or on TV but unless you are a true amateur or a film student, you are often short of a key knowledge that could offer you a better understanding of how and why some elements in a movie touch your very soul. What can be done?

This is where my obsession for cinema kicked in, and a project to create workshops dedicated to transmit film knowledge available to everyone came to be.

MY MISSION: Help you develop a cinematic speech to express with finesse and eloquence your singularity!

AS A BONUS: Initiate you to artistic activities related to cinema!

Everyone deserves access to visual literacy in a fun way and it’s important to share this experience in a community. It’s good for the spirit and for social life!

CINETOC WORKSHOPS

I love revisiting movies that moved me, each time looking for a new angle. It’s a little fixation of mine.

That’s why I created a series of workshops offering to French speakers an approach to cinema from 3 different angles: VISUAL (Atelier A1), ACTING (Atelier A2) and STORYTELLING (Atelier A3). It gives freedom to choose the one that suits best ones taste and needs.

For YOU, English speaker, I created THE FRENCH WORKSHOP, a blend of these 3 angles with a cultural twist! Discover how French people and lifestyle are depicted through visuals, acting and storytelling, in current French cinematography!
